The Void Of Course Moon in Astrology

What not to do during a void of course moon!
I've been paying close attention to the void of course moon for the past
several years and it has taught me a lot about the value of timing. Mainly, it has taught me what I should and shouldn't do when the moon is void. Since astrology is my passion I'd like to share some of these tips with you.
What exactly is a void of course moon?
The Moon passes through each of the twelve zodiac signs during the course of one lunar month, approximately 28 days. During this passage through the signs it makes various contacts, or aspects, with each of the other planets. However, as the Moon approaches the end of a sign it may not aspect any planet until it enters the next sign. When this happens it is called the "void of course moon." It can last just a few minutes, or hours. A few years ago there were some sluggish void moons that lasted longer than a day, leaving me with the feeling of jogging uphill in wet sand.
When the Moon is void it is in a disconnected state, and our own energies may feel the same way. So it's not a good time to start new things, make important decisions, or plan appointments. We may find later on, after the Moon un-voids, that we regret what we did, or that we didn't have all the information we needed to complete the task begun under the void Moon. Mistakes and setbacks are common. It's best to await the entry of the Moon into the next sign, which will begin a new creative flow of energy and signal a good time for another beginning.
I should know. I've been tracking the void Moons for the past several years and now I pay attention to the void periods religiously. I've found that whenever I scheduled an appointment when the Moon was void it ended up being cancelled, postponed, or something very different from what I had expected when I scheduled it. Whenever I started a project it never worked out right, and most times it never even got off the ground. Whenever I met a new person under the void Moon the relationship never amounted to anything -- which wasn't such a bad thing a lot of the time. ;-)
On a much grander scale, here's a great bit of trivia about void Moons during the 20th century: every presidential candidate from 1900 to 1972 who announced their presidency under a void of course Moon lost the election! Bad time to start an enterprise?
What can one do under the void of course Moon? A lot. Relax. Sit back and contemplate the universe and where you are at that moment. Revise, think things over, review recent decisions and actions. Take time to smell the coffee. It's a great time for an afternoon at the spa (provided you didn't schedule the appointment when the Moon was void). The void of course Moon is a great time to reflect and hang back until it's time to get back into the action with the Moon in a new sign.
Knowing a few things about astrological timing has been a big help to me in many ways. If you want to begin to take advantage of Moon phases get yourself a little pocket Moon calendar for under ten bucks. It will save much wasted time and help you channel your energies more wisely.
