Crime Horoscope With A Happy Ending

Lesley Perez, eight years old, endured a traumatic abduction which ended up happily for her and her family. While playing with her sister and friends in front of their Hidalgo, Texas home on the evening of May 12, 2009, a stranger stopped his truck in front of the children, knocked Lesley's older sister aside, grabbed Lesley and sped off in his truck. It was the beginning of a dangerous scenario which very often leads to a tragic ending for the child.

Lesley is shown in the chart by 3 Sagittarius rising, the ruler Jupiter being in the cadent third house of siblings. Lesley was clearly in her sister's charge: the sister's ruler Saturn disposits Lesley's Jupiter in Aquarius and Saturn is at the Midheaven: clearly the older sister took responsibility for Lesley and fought bravely to ward off her abductor.

Judging from the fact that the older sister's Saturn is in Virgo, the sign of detriment to Jupiter, it looks like Lesley didn't like the supervision, a typical issue between young sisters.

When I first read this chart Lesley was still missing. But I didn't see the usual ominous signs that something terrible -- aside from the abduction -- had happened to her. What I did see gave reason for hope: Lesley's Jupiter is unafflicted, it makes no eighth house connections, and there seem to be no other signs of imminent violence. Venus and Mars straddle the fifth house of children, suggesting a sexual molestation, which I believe was in the abductor's mind, but Venus had not reached conjunction with Mars and in fact would not do so while in the sign of Aries.

As for the perp, ruled by Mercury in the seventh, I felt it was a young person (Gemini), who was struggling with his own urges -- Mercury is dignified in Gemini but retrograde, and going back into Taurus, a bestial sign. However the fact that Mercury was retrograde indicated he would be caught.

And he was. Within the next day or so Lesley was found in the perp's house some ten miles east of her home, unharmed. The perp was a 23-year-old registered sex offender. He was arrested and Lesley was returned safely to her parents and her heroic big sister.

I wish all my child abduction charts would have such a blessed ending.
